The District Administration Mardan facilitated a visit by FSP officers to the historic and world-renowned archaeological site of Takht-i-Bhai today. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Takht-i-Bhai, Adnan Mumtaz Khattak, extended a warm welcome to the visiting officers. During the visit, Wahab Khan, Incharge of Archaeology, briefed the delegation on the grandeur of the Gandhara civilization, the historical background of Takht-i-Bhai, and the global significance of its archaeological sites.
He highlighted that these historic ruins are listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, attracting tourists from around the world who consider visiting here an honor. The delegation members inspected the historic buildings, monasteries, and temples, expressing deep interest in the ancient architecture. The officers praised the efforts of the District Administration Mardan and the Department of Archaeology and vowed to utilize all resources to protect and promote this national heritage.
At the conclusion of the visit, Assistant Commissioner Adnan Mumtaz Khattak presented commemorative shields to the visiting officers, emphasizing that the Takht-i-Bhai archaeological site is a valuable asset not only for this region but for the entire world, and its preservation is a collective responsibility.
